MATTE Nails.

Matte nails are a hot new trend.  I just picked one up recently, by O.P.I.  At first I was a little skeptical, all the way up until the point I got them on my nails.  You would think they would feel dry and uncomfortable.  When the polish dried though, it was totally weird and and totally cool.  (They dry very fast by the way, you can just put them on and go.  It's a very unique look and they actually feel smooth to touch.  O.P.I. has some pretty colors in matte and they also have an O.P.I. suede collection which looks like matte but with a little bit of sparkle to it.  Remember you are not supposed to put a base or top coat on, just use as is.  Another thing, they do not last long on your nails, they just about come off as easy is you put it on.  What I do is put an extra coat on every day for as long as I can until it gets too thick and then I just re-do.  Try it!!!

EVERYTHING EMBELLISHED

Key word:  Studs. Studs.  Studs.  And more studs.  If you're out shopping you can't avoid these embellishments that are literally on everything out there.  The City's Olivia Palermo looks chic, embellished out from head to toe.  Megan Fox is sporting a rocker look with a studded belt and studded boots.  Wow, she makes those boots look good!  And last but not least, I love Eva in this fully embellished dress in nude.  That color looks so great on her skin tone, she's absolutely glowing!

Here are some of my favorite studded clothes, shoes, and accessories I thought you might enjoy:

This Kimikal Leopard Stud Dress is $140 at Dulcet Couture.  So cute!

This is by far my favorite, a studded bootie by Christian Louboutin, $150!

A rose studed belt by GUESS, $60.

A sexy low back metal stud minidress by Frederick's of Hollywood, $29.99.

A beautiful tote by Betsey Johnson with whips and studs, $192.00.  A dash of S&M....I like it.

A turquoise studded purse by Pink Ice for $37.99.

SARAH PALIN Going...VOGUE?

Ok, this magazine cover was from 2008, but all this talk about Sarah, and her new book 'Going Rogue' is stirring up old, of what I thought was forgotten, sentiments in me.

I remember watching her on TV throughout the campaign last year, almost like a bad accident that you wanted to look away but for some reason you couldn't stop staring in awe.  Her ritzy suits, perfectly tailored coats, impeccable face, and lets not forget designer shoes were captivating on screen.  We must give credit where credit is due.  But then............she spoke.

Why I hate.....er.....envy Sarah Palin?  (Those two words are sometimes used interchangeably, am I right?)  - HER $150,000 WARDROBE.

EARTH to SEQUINS!!! - This season's HOTTEST trend....

The Hills girls are sparkling in these sequined numbers and even if you're not fan, you can't deny how eye-catching these pieces look.

If you can get past her unsightly (and what looks like unwashed) hair, Shakira is sporting a sequined cardigan herself.

Taylor Swift looks graceful and elegant as usual in her sparkly cinderella-esque dress.

Rihanna, true to form, always the first to sport the latest trend is glowing in this dress covered in sequins.  I love the colors on this dress.  And where is she going with that suitcase, all dressed to the nines??

Here is a sequined tank I found at BCBG.  Oooh,  I'm blinded!  It screams 'notice me'.  To see more of this you can go to their website in my links at the right.

I love this dress, also by BCBG.  The sequins, the prints, the subtle colors...and of course I love minidresses. However, add this to list of things I love and desire, but can't afford.  Sigh......

Here's a lovely sequined dress by H&M.  I'm always thankful for H&M.  Wear this with a wide belt and chunky heels, and all you need is an excuse to go out!

If that was too much sparkle, here is a silk sequined dress by Forever 21.  Subtle sparkle, and still chic and fabulous!

10 INCH STILETTOS!!!

Would you do it???  These monsters of shoes by Alexander McQueen are worn by Daphne Guiness.  Of course, Lady Gaga wore them first in her new video 'Bad Romance'.

Taylor Swift Monologue

Did anybody catch this SNL?  Taylor Swift was soo adorable in it.  Sure, she tried to be funny and all, but let's face it, Taylor Swift is a daintly little princess.  And we like her that way.  The one of her as a prisoner was absolutely hilarious.  They tried to make her look gruff and mean, but eh.... she's just too pretty.

The color PURPLE.....

Well.....more like eggplant? Whatever you wanna call it, this color is everywhere. It's on the runway, it's on faces, its on nails, and I think its even been seen in hair - so if you're into funky hair color, this would definitely be in vogue. The dark violet-almost black color looks so rich on your fingernails. Show off your chic nails when you go out for cocktails and circle your hand around your martini glass. Believe me, they will be noticed. Another super-glam way to use this color to your beautification is on your eyes. Try your favorite shade of purple with a little sparkle as an eyeshadow and you really glam-ify your look. Oh, and don't forget your lashes! Really pump up your lashes with mascara, I usually do a couple of coats, and of course fake lashes work wonders. Hey, you may not have a million bucks, but who says you can't feel like you do??

Beauty IS skin deep...

Do you suffer from adult acne? Or are you like me who breaks out every time its 'that time of the month'? You know, those annoying pimples that pop out and just keep growing and growing until they finally pop, and by the time they actually go away, its almost next month's 'time of the month'? Ok, ok TMI. Well, I'm dying to share with you this new product I recently started using. It's Mdskincare's alpha beta daily face peel. This stuff is so amazing, and believe me, I'm the number one skeptic on skincare products, especially for your face. I'm known to have sensitive skin, and this stuff works for me. It basically takes out that outermost superficial layer of dead skin cells, and really cleans and smooths out your skin. If you have scars, they will definitely fade after you've started using this. They have designed a formula that is so gentle you can literally use it EVERYDAY and it will not dry or damage your skin. It is UNBELIEVABLE how much better my complexion is. Here's a few tips though: 1. There are two steps to it, and both Step 1 and Step 2 come together. However, I recommend instead of buying the regular pads in a bottle, get the travel pads that come in individual packets. Otherwise they have a tendency to dry out, or stick together, and you end up wasting them. 2. Since they are expensive, it may not be absolutely necessary to use them everyday. You could use them everyday for the first week, and then just use them twice a week thereafter. Or just use them if you have an important day or evening coming up, right before you put on your makeup. 3. I found that it's always best to use with a good moisturizer. Lets face it, we can wear all the pretty clothes, and sport the most adorable shoes, but if we have bad skin, it REALLY shows. There can be no blemishes!!! Trust me, this stuff really works...

More thigh highs....

And last but not least, check out this hot stiletto boot in stretch leather by Ellie. The simple style is sleek and sexy. Add this to your wardrobe and turn heads while you're out on the town, for under $50! Eh, I think I have some shopping to do?

Thigh high boots: where to get them...

The brown stiletto is my favorite, a gorgeous pair by Christian Louboutin in stretch suede. Ooh, walking down the street in these, imagine the power they would give you. So elegant. Unfortunately...you will not be seeing these in my closet (or on my feet), as they would cost me two month's worth of rent. But hey, I can dream can't I? The brown flat boot is an adorable pair by Joie Coachella. These flats are easier on your feet, and also easier on your wallet. You can purchase these for $525.

Not to worry! Above is a beautiful boot by Baby Phat for women. The leather being so soft and enticing with the buckle detailing at the top makes this also one of my favorites! And the best part about this? The price. You can have a pair of these in your closet for $125.

What you MUST have this season...

Ladies, if you had to go out and get one item for this season's cold weather, this is it. Thigh high boots are signature style this season. Be careful though because as like all boots, they range from flats, to stilettos, to ones with buckles or studs, etc, so you want to make sure you get the perfect pair that suits your needs (since they can be a bit pricey). The ones with studs and stilettos can end up looking a bit scandalous, but if you wear them with the right outfit you can still look edgy without looking over the top. I am so happy these are in style this winter, because they keep my legs warm! So many nights I've gone out, where I was wearing my dresses, with tights and little booties, and although I looked cute I was freezing . These boots look so amazing with a little minidress or even with leggings and a tunic top. It keeps it edgy, and classy at the same time. Very stylish. This is a beautiful pair by Jimmy Choo in black shiny leather and stiletto...so much fun.
